Chelsea morning news: Mata on Mourinho, van Gaal's message for Blues

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Former Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has revealed he had no relationship with Jose Mourinho.

Eyebrows were raised when Mourinho agreed for Mata to be sold, especially as he went to Manchester United.

“For better or for worse, we had no relationship, there was no dialogue,” said Mata.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reckons his side can chase down Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.

United dropped more points to the Blues in the latest round of games following a 2-2 draw at West Brom.

“That's possible [catching Chelsea] but it is difficult to say. But I am arrogant because I have done it a lot of times,” said the Dutchman.

Jose Mourinho is angry with Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque over the injury to striker Diego Costa.

Costa has been carrying a persistent hamstring problem throughout the season and has fallen out of the side because of it.

“You are not happy when you give players in good conditions and you receive the players in bad conditions,” said the boss.
