Jamie Carragher believes that Liverpool's Andre Wisdom can be a replacement for Glen Johnson.
Wisdom is currently out on loan at West Bromwich Albion, but Carragher feels that he could become a long-term choice for Liverpool at right-back.
Johnson's contract at Anfield expires in the summer and the Sky Sports pundit feels that he could be replaced by Wisdom.
.@thehockjr With Glen's contract running down and the way Wisdom played last night could certainly be a good replacement.— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) October 21, 2014
The powerful defender has came up through the Reds' youth-academy, but Carragher clearly has a lot of faith in him to make the grade in the first-team.
Widsom's talents were on full display last night when he took on Manchester United with his current club.
The Baggies managed to pick up a 2-2 draw against United and Wisdom played a starring role in the clash.
The 21-year-old was a threat going forward and solid defensively, as he put in a stellar display against one of the country's top teams.
It has led to calls for him to return to Anfield and be placed in Liverpool's defence, as Brendan Rodgers' men have looked shaky at the back all season.
The side were poor defensively last year and they still appear to be leaking goals, so it is rather surprising that they allowed to defender of Wisdom's quality to go on loan.
Johnson's performances in a Liverpool shirt have been criticised more recently and there is a thought that he will need to be upgraded if the Reds are to become title-challengers in the future.
