Arsenal to call on 17-year-old prospect Ryan Huddart v Anderlecht - Report

Arsenal could call on Ryan Huddard against Anderlecht due to a goalkeeping crisis.

Arsenal face a goalkeeping crisis for their Champions League tie against Anderlecht.

Wojciech Szczesny is suspended after being sent off against Galatasaray, while David Ospina is injured.

Emiliano Martinez is the next man up, and due to start in the away tie to the Belgian side. This leaves a chance for a teenager to feature on the bench.

Ryan Huddart is tipped to get the call-up to back-up Martinez for what is a must-win game for the Gunners.

The Sun report: "Wenger's only other option between the sticks is 17-year-old academy keeper Ryan Huddart who will almost certainly be on the bench in Brussels."

Huddart only signed a pro-contract with Arsenal in March, and getting a shock call in the Champions League would cap a remarkable rise to prominence.

If on the bench, an injury in the warm-up or red card for Martinez could very easily see the former Charlton trainee called upon.

Huddart has played in both Arsenal's UEFA Youth League matches to date this season, keeping one clean sheet, and also managed a shut out during his only under-21 display this campaign.
