A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher claims Arsenal have gone backwards compared to last season.

Arsenal are chasing the lead in the Premier League and have produced two very different performances in the Champions League.

“Now they actually look further away than they did last season, considering the players that they’ve brought in,” said Carragher on Sky Sports.

Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Napoli star Jose Callejon.

TMW claims Arsenal are ready to make their offer for the 27-year-old Spanish forward.

However, they face competition from Atletico Madrid who have already seen a €20 million offer rejected.

Jack Wilshere has revealed he’s excited by the imminent return of Theo Walcott.

Walcott is back in training and featured for the Arsenal under-21 side at the back end of last week.

“He gives us something different – he gives us pace. I know we’ve got Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who gives us pace but Theo gives you something different without the ball,” said the midfielder.
