Arsenal fans react on Twitter to David Ospina news: ‘Kim Kallstrom repeat!’

David Ospina

Arsenal supporters take to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the David Ospina injury news.

On the eve of Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Anderlecht in Belgium, manager Arsene Wenger made some startling revelations about David Ospina.

The Colombia international goalkeeper was already ruled out of Wednesday’s match due to injury, but the Frenchman declared that he will be out of for two to three months.

What’s more, Wenger revealed that Ospina was already carrying an injury when he signed him from Nice in the summer transfer window.

‘It is exactly the same one [as from the World Cup]’, Arsenal’s official website quotes him as saying. ‘He had his first injury at Nice - it was a knee problem and he was a bit rushed back and did not use his leg, so his muscle became weaker.

‘Then he got injured in the World Cup. After that, he came to us injured after the World Cup and it took him two months to play again. I had to bring him on against Galatasaray without a warm-up and being prepared, so he had a recurrence of that injury.

‘It means he is out for two to three months, now we have to be really careful because it is a recurrence of a thigh injury, which is very difficult. It is a long-term injury’.

Arsenal have suffered with injuries this season, and Ospina being sidelined for up to three months is another blow for the North London club.

What has infuriated some of the Arsenal fans is Wenger admitting that he was aware of Ospina’s injury, which has certainly brought back memories of the Premier League outfit recruiting Kim Kallstrom on loan from Spartak Moscow in January despite a back problem.

Arsenal fans have been giving his opinion on Ospina’s injury on social networking site Twitter, and below are the best reactions:
