Who is Ryan Huddart?
That may be a question many an Arsenal fan could be asking themselves this week as the 17-year-old has been drafted in to the senior squad due to a goalkeeping crisis due to the respective absences of Wojciech Szczesny (suspension) and David Ospina (injury).
Here are 5 facts…
1): Huddart is described by the club as a "talented stopper" and enjoyed a mainstay status in the Under-18 team last year, featuring 20 times under the stewardship of Carl Laraman.
2): Arsenal bought then-schoolboy Huddart from Charlton Athletic and his progression in North London has been rapid as he has been a standout at U18 level, featured on the substitutes bench in the U21 league and also UEFA Youth League.
3): Huddart has been recognised internationally as he has been capped at U17 level by England.
4): Born in Margate in 1997, Huddart signed his scholarship just last summer, before penning his professional contract in March, this year.
5): He is Arsenal happy on social media. When the group stage fixtures were announced and fed through the official Gunners Twitter account, Huddart swiftly retweeted the information - little did he know he would make the trip to Belgium.
