Fellaini has now taken his tracksuit off, fortunately he has a Man Utd strip on underneath #WBAMUN— West Bromwich Albion (@WBAFCofficial) October 20, 2014
During the West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United match earlier this evening, Monday, the social media team at the Hawthorns may have committed a Twitter faux pas.
Within minutes of sending a post seemingly playing-down the talents of Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, the player in question scored for the away team - sending the WBA time-line into a frenzy.
It was a Tweet akin to Chelsea-mad Tim Lovejoy's memorably statement "it's only Ray Parlour" just moments before the Englishman netted for Arsenal en route to a 2-0 victory.
And it appears to have irritated Aston Villa-supporting Stan Collymore, who believes such banter lacks class.
"Villa fans if our Twitter feed ever tried to be clever and funny, [we should] tell them to stick to the basics," he announced, before adding: "Leave the classless stuff to other clubs."
West Brom returned a 2-2 draw with United.
