Morgan Schneiderlin says that he hasn't been involved in a game like Southampton's win against Sunderland since his days playing junior football.
The French midfielder started, as the Saints demolished Sunderland 8-0 with some scintillating attacking football.
The dominance that Southampton had is rarely seen at the top-level nowadays and Schneiderlin admits that he has never before been involved in a similar match since turning professional.
“I haven’t been involved in a professional game like that, maybe when I was in the under-13s," he said to the club's official site. "But it is just three points, it is good for everybody to enjoy but we need to work even harder next week.
“We were very ruthless, we punished them on every mistake but we know we can improve. It was very important at half time not to drop back and concede."
Southampton have proved a lot of doubters wrong with their fine form over the early stages of the season.
The side are establishing themselves as contenders for the Champions League and appear to be one of the most threatening teams in England going forward.
The challenge for them will be to keep this form up, but already the aim from within the camp appears to be to make it into the top four.
If they are able to do so it would be one of the most incredible achievements in recent Premier League history, given the turnover of players in the summer.
Southampton's next game comes against Stoke City, where they will be aiming to build on their increasing momentum and pick up another three points.
