There's a feeling in Italy that rising star Manolo Gabbiadini may take his next steps abroad and Tottenham are being touted as the favourites to sign him.
The 22-year-old has always been seen as a great prospect but he is starting to show what he can do at Italy's highest level.
However, in order to keep developing at his current rate, the Italian media have suggested that he needs to follow in the footsteps of Italian international striker Ciro Immobile, who left Torino for Borussia Dortmund.
Atletico Madrid are known to be interested in signing Gabbiadini and reportedly made advances in the summer, but their efforts were rebuffed.
Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims that unlike other Italian teams, Atletico and Tottenham can lay down the sums of money needed, but it is suggested in other Italian media reports that Spurs are in pole position.
Tottenham are in need of improved striking options and have reportedly been watching Gabbiadini for some time, so he may be the man they go for in January.
