Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is sweating over the fitness of three players ahead of the Liverpool game.
Spanish newspaper AS has revealed that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is sweating over the fitness of three key players ahead of the trip to Liverpool in the Champions League.
Real Madrid trained after their 5-0 victory over Levante, but three key players were absent during the session.
“Ancelotti is still waiting to see if Varane, Benzema and Sergio Ramos recover from injury, with all three being rested in Valencia. Liverpool, meanwhile, scraped to a 3-2 win over bottom-of-the-table side QPR in the Premier League,” reports AS.
Varane and Ramos are two main components of his back four and should either be absent then Liverpool will be extremely confident that they can get at the Real defence and give them some real problems.
Benzema is also an important player in attack but Real have enough firepower and versatility at the top of their team to be able to cope without him.
Real are the only side with a 100% record in Group B with seven goals scored and two conceded so far. Another three points puts them onto nine, one away from the traditional ten which is normally enough to make it into the knock out round.
Liverpool are currently on three points, the same as FC Basel although the Swiss side are in second place behind Real Madrid, based on the performances between the two teams.
