Portuguese press: Rebirth of Nani

Manchester United loanee Nani has rediscovered his form at Sporting Lisbon and the Portuguese press have hailed his renaissance.

Nani left Manchester United in the summer for Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon on loan and he finally seems to be on the right track.

The 27-year-old had struggled over the last couple of seasons at Old Trafford and Louis van Gaal used him as a bargaining chip to land Marcos Rojo.

After a nightmare debut on his return to Sporting, Nani has improved and he netted a superb goal against rivals Porto yesterday to take his tally to four in seven games.

Portuguese newspaper A Bola ran with the headline: "Nani returns" and reports that the Manchester United loanee has rediscovered the look and venom of the old Nani.

Nani made 147 appearances for Manchester United between 2007 and last summer, netting 25 goals, so he is already on better scoring form at Sporting than he showed in Manchester.

While a return to van Gaal's plans may be a tough target for Nani, he could be making a good case for a return to one of Europe's top leagues.
