Former Netherlands international striker Patrick Kluivert is in awe of the attacking quality that Manchester United possess.
Former Newcastle United striker Patrick Kluivert has been singing the praises of Manchester United’s attacking unit.
The Red Devils have four of the top attackers in the world. While Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are established Premier League superstars, summer signings Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria are world-class players who have already started to create panic among the defenders in the English top flight.
Falcao has already broken his duck for United in the Premier League, while Di Maria has scored three goals and created 16 chances in the league.
Kluivert, who worked with United manager Louis van Gaal as the Netherlands national team’s assistant manager, believes that the four attacking players will be important for the Manchester outfit as the season progresses.
‘I was delighted to see Falcao score his first goal’, the Dutchman told United’s official website. ‘He is a great player and also a good man. I hope he can do well alongside my friend Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney – they are a real offensive force.
‘Di Maria is a great signing as well and if those players can link together well this season I think it will be a very good season for United. Everyone knows the situation at the moment - it's going better than at the beginning and I hope they are growing as a team’.
United are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 11 points from seven matches, but they can return to the top four with victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns later today.
