Manchester United play-maker Juan Mata has published his latest blog post ahead of his side’s evening encounter with West Bromwich Albion.
The Spaniard revealed how he likes to prepare for matches away from home and how training has gone as United look to play their first match after the international break.
“I try to get mentally ready for the game,” Mata wrote, “visualising different plays and the way the match could be.
“This week has been very good in terms of training. I hope we are able to show that on the pitch.
“A third consecutive win would be really important. The last two took a lot of effort and I’m sure it’ll be the same at The Hawthorns.”
It certainly will, with the Baggies a tough proposition in their own backyard and having recently begun to pick up points under Alan Irvine.
But United will know they have Chelsea just round the corner, and if they can beat West Brom this evening, they will go into that vital match against the current league leaders with confidence extremely high.
Mata also took the time to mention his countryman Thiago Alcantara, who suffered yet another injury blow last week.
“We have had bad news this week with Thiago Alcantara’s injury,” the United star wrote. “I’m sure he’s going to recover and play his great football again.”
The Bayern Munich man was heavily linked with a move to United prior to his switch to the Allianz Arena, but since that transfer he has suffered a string of setbacks.
