West Bromwich Albion superstar-in-the-making Saido Berahino, 21, made a hero of himself once again this season as he netted a vital goal against Manchester United at the Hawthorns earlier this evening, Monday.
Berahino has been a revelation for West Brom this season and has replicated his exceptional form for the England Under-21 team, but with five goals from seven outings ahead of his United appearance - where he defeated David de Gea - and a further strike in the League Cup, it appears England senior boss Roy Hodgson may be under pressure to call the talented youngster up to the Three Lions squad.
Chris Brunt assisted for West Brom just after the hour mark with a through ball, which Berahino capitalised on by converting a right footed shot into the bottom right hand corner in order to send the Baggies 2-1 up.
Joey Barton said on Twitter: "This kid can finish - big future."
He added: "Especially as England have a striking crisis…"
Boaz Myhill was powerless when it came to Daley Blind's equaliser for 2-2 - but West Brom's well-earned point saw them consolidate their strong position comfortably above the relegation zone, as they are now 14th - two points clear of Newcastle United in 18th.
