West Ham United defender James Collins has been speaking of his delight at his side’s impressive form so far this season.
The Hammers are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 13 points from eight matches – above Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
The London club have played eye-pleasing football as well, scoring 15 goals in the process – more than Spurs, and as many as Arsenal and Liverpool.
West Ham’s start to the 2014-15 Premier League campaign has surprised many, with suggestions rife that they could eventually end up in a Europa League spot.
Centre-back Collins is overjoyed with West Ham’s performance so far this season and is happy to see them in the top four of the league table.
‘The table is good viewing at the minute’, the 31-year-old told West Ham’s official website. ‘It's all down to the way we're playing, it's been a great season so far.
‘We're defending well and with the way the two boys we've got up front are playing, it's looking good. Away wins are always great and Saturday's was hard-fought.
‘They had us on the ropes in the first half and we had to weather the storm and defend well. There's goals in the lads up front so it's all about staying in the game when the opposition are on top’.
West Ham have won back-to-back matches in the Premier League, with a home win against Queens Park Rangers before the two-week international break followed by a 3-1 away triumph over Burnley on Saturday.
The London club do have a good squad with the summer signings playing well, and this season there is a genuine belief that they can finish in the top half of the table at least.
