‘It would’ve been nice to play with Falcao, Rooney and RvP,’ says United assistant boss

Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs has been speaking about Manchester United's strikers.

Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs has revealed that he would have loved to play alongside the club’s current front-three.

The loan signing of Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco this summer means United now have one of the deadliest front-lines in Europe, with the Colombian joining up with Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney – not to mention Angel Di Maria operating behind them.

Now Giggs has revealed what appears to be a slight regret on not being able to link up with the players on the pitch this season.

In an interview with the Premier League’s official website, the former Welsh international said, “It would have been nice to play on the wing when you look over and you’ve got van Persie, Falcao and Rooney in the middle.”

The strikers are still clearly learning each other’s games, and with Rooney currently suspended he will have to wait to continue his blossoming relationship with the Colombian on the pitch. But van Persie and Falcao impressed against Everton and all three are beginning to look like they can play together – a disconcerting thought for all the defenders still to face them this season and beyond.
