Arsenal player Nacho Monreal has been speaking about his teammate and defensive colleague Hector Bellerin.
The latter made his Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw with Hull city on Saturday, and makeshift centre-back Monreal was impressed with his performance.
Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, Monreal said, “(Hector) had a great performance. He’s been training with us all season, so we know exactly what he can do and what type of potential he has.
“He took his opportunity in pre-season and he did it again on Saturday. He had a great game.
“Given that he is so young and does have such potential, I think he’s going to have a great career ahead of him.”
Bellerin is only 19 but plays with a confidence that belies his years. The Spaniard has also featured in the Champions League and the League Cup this season, and while his presence is due to the injury absence of Mathieu Debuchy, the teenager has not let himself or his club down.
Arsenal were lucky to earn a point against an impressive Hull side, but in the likes of Bellerin and Monreal they have options who will give their all for the club, even if they are not currently regarded as first-choice players.
