Erik Lamela: I feel a lot better under Pochettino than I did last season

The Tottenham Hotspur winger is happier at White Hart Lane this term.

Spurs winger Erik Lamela says he feels 'a lot better' than he did last season - thanks to Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham have started the current season slowly but Lamela has nevertheless praised the club's new boss.

And the Argentine hopes the north London side can still qualify for next season's Champions League.

“Can we qualify? We hope so,” Lamela told the London Evening Standard. “There is still a lot of time left in the season.”

“It’s very good with Mauricio Pochettino,” he said. “I feel a lot better than I did last season because I’m playing, I’m not injured and that makes things easier.

"It helps when you can train regularly with the team and adapt to your new position.”

The 22-year-old has performed much better so far this term, although he endured a poor showing during the 4-1 defeat at Manchester City on Saturday.

Tottenham's next Premier League action comes at White Hart Lane on Sunday, when they face Newcastle United.
