AC Milan beat Verona, but Torres may not be celebrating

Fernando Torres

AC Milan secured an important 3-1 win away to Verona, but Keisuke Honda once against upstaged Fernando Torres.

Fernando Torres came to AC Milan on loan to make a fresh start as the Rossoneri's star striker, but he has been comprehensively outdone by Japanese teammate Keisuke Honda.

Torres has so far only found the net once for Milan and the pressure is growing on the Spaniard to prove his worth.

Pippo Inzaghi started both Torres and former Liverpool target Stephan El Shaarawy alongside Honda to take on a tough Verona outfit.

But Torres didn't find the net and was substituted after 69 minutes having missed a couple of chances.

The star of the show was Honda, who produced two excellent finishes, which added to a comical own goal from Rafa Marques proved enough for a 3-1 win.

Honda now has six goals in seven games - the kind of scoring record that Torres would have wanted to boast at this stage and he is the clear star of the Milan front line.

For Torres, time is running out fast to rediscover his scoring touch, otherwise he may find Inzaghi favours Jeremy Menez and El Shaarawy alongside the rampant Honda.
