Adryan is already popular at Elland Road, he will be even more popular for fans who know he rejected their rivals three years ago.

On Friday night Leeds United fans finally got to see their exciting Brazilian Adryan in action, even if it was in a 2-1 defeat to local rivals Rotherham United.

The talented Brazilian signed for Leeds from Flamengo this summer, after previously playing for Massimo Cellino owned Cagliari in Italy.

Adryan has previously been dubbed the 'new Kaka' and from video clips on YouTube and from Leeds training the Leeds faithful have become very excited to see him in action.

Now he is seemingly up to scratch and Leeds are hoping to embrace a new mercurial hero.

But if his obvious talent is not enough reason to embrace Adryan, Leeds fans have another reason. He once REJECTED fierce rivals Manchester United.

The Brazilian was once being courted by the likes of Chelsea, Inter Milan, Juventus and Shakhtar Donestsk.

But it was Manchester United who got to the negotiating phase, with Adryan just having to say yes to the Premier League giants.

But he rejected them.

He revealed in April 2012 that in the previous summer he told United thanks, but no thanks, over an offer - as he did not feel the time was right to leave Brazil:

"Man United did talk to me and showed interest. But I was not interested in moving at that point. Let's see if something adequate comes up in the future. I don't think about going to Europe so quickly, things need to be done step by step.”

He left for Cagliari in January of this year, finally ready to embrace European football, but has now find himself at the rivals of the club he rejected three years previously.

Leeds fans will add this to the list of reasons to love Adryan.
