PHOTO: Eduardo Vargas scores his first goal for Queens Park Rangers v Liverpool in Premier League

Eduardo Vargas was on target for Queens Park Rangers against Liverpool at Loftus Road on Sunday, but he still failed to help them to a win in the Premier League clash.

Liverpool appeared to be edging to a narrow 1-0 victory at Loftus Road when Queens Park Rangers struck.

An own goal from Richard Dunne midway through the second half seemed to be enough for the Reds to pick up the three points against QPR in the Premier League clash at Loftus Road on Sunday.

However, Chile international forward Eduardo Vargas popped inside the Liverpool penalty box in the 87th minute to make it 1-1. It was the 24-year-old’s first goal in the Premier League for QPR, having joined the London outfit from Italian club Napoli on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window.

There was still more drama at Loftus Road, though. Philippe Coutinho made it 2-1 to Liverpool with a brilliant goal in the 90th minute, but in the second minute of injury time Vargas turned in Leroy Fer’s delivery from close range with the aid of a deflection.

Liverpool had the last laugh at Loftus Road, though, as an own goal from Steven Caulker in the dying seconds of the encounter saw them register a 3-2 win.
