Arsenal and Chelsea both were in action in the Premier League on Saturday.
While the Gunners had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Hull City at the Emirates Stadium, the Blues overpowered Crystal Palace 2-1 away from home.
Cesc Fabregas was not the best player for Chelsea at Selhurst Park on Saturday – it was probably Oscar – but the Spain international midfielder once again played his role in yet another victory for the Blues.
The former Arsenal captain scored the second and winning goal against the Eagles and controlled the midfield, as Chelsea maintained their position at the top of the Premier League table.
In the second half of the contest, Fabregas and Mourinho were observed sharing a joke, a picture of which is below:
It is now common knowledge that Arsenal passed on the chance to re-sign Fabregas in the summer transfer window.
The North London club had the first refusal if Barcelona wanted to sell the 27-year-old, and when the Gunners did not pursue their former captain, Chelsea stepped in.
Fabregas has proved to be a great acquisition for Chelsea and has been arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League so far this season.
