Manchester United have been linked with plenty of central defenders in recent weeks.
This week has seen the likes of Ryan Shawcross and Ron Vlaar linked with a move - and Turkish defender Semih Kaya has also been in the gossip columns.
It is rumoured that Louis van Gaal is keen on the Galatasaray defender, who is also a Turkish international, valued at around £8 million.
Atletico Madrid are also being heavily linked with his signature, with their president flying to Istanbul this week to begin discussions over a deal.
But would United want him anyway?
Because the other week he was torn apart by a player Manchester United were happy to sell on Transfer Deadline day. Danny Welbeck was flogged to Arsenal for £16 million and has been a hit so far.
His best performance was against Galatasaray, when he scored a hat-trick. Kaya was perhaps the best of a bad lot in a back three last on that night - with Felipe Melo and Aurelien Chedjou poor.
But he was still eating Welbeck's dust for most of the game as he was humiliated at times by a player MAnchester united essentially showed the exit door to.
Certainly not a ringing endorsement for a potential signing.
