Crocked Newcastle pair Tweet after win - £6m man 'still on crutches'

Siem De Jong and Rolando Aarons both Tweeted their support to team-mates after defeating Leicester City 1-0.

Newcastle United have finally won their first game of the Premier League season after they defeated Leicester City at an eventful St James Park yesterday evening.

The game on Tyneside was delayed by an hour because of a faulty scoreboard, deemed hazardous to fan safety by the busiest referee in the world this week Martin Atkinson.

Once the game got under way Newcastle slowly began to edge a close affair.

Papiss Cisse should have scored an open goal but his blushes were spared by team-mate Gabriel Obertan - who fired in a 71st minute winner.

Newcastle have had it tough this season, injuries to some of their more impressive performers has certainly not helpes matters.

Rolando Aarons looked like being a star for the season after his early form. The youngster is however currently nursing a hamstring strain back to full fitness. He is expected back in November.

Siem De Jong cost £6 million from Ajax in the summer and impressed with his early season form. However he is still on crutches, as revealed yesterday, because of a torn thigh muscle.

He is expected back after Christmas.

But the pair were more than pleased to watch their team pick up all three points yesterday - sharing these messages on Twitter after the game...
