Everton's players were very pleased with their result against Aston Villa yesterday.
After losing 2-1 to Manchester United before the international break Everton have been left languishing just above the relegation mark for over a week - and fans and players alike could not wait to rectify their position.
Everton faced Aston Villa yesterday in the Premier League, themselves not in great form and struggling to score goals. But with
Everton having the worst defence in the league so far this season, Villa would have hoped for goals at Goodison.
But they didn't get them.
Everton won the game 3-0 in what was a comfortable and polished performance from Roberto Martinez' men.
Steven Naismith was tireless on the right, Romelu Lukaku improved on recent performances and the full-backs Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman outstanding.
Jagielka got the ball rolling, scoring his second goal of the season to give Everton a 1-0 lead.
While Barkley, on his return to first-team action, bagged an assist for Lukaku's second.
The two full-backs combined for the third and Jagielka and Barkley were just two of a number of Everton players ecstatic at victory.
