Reported Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan returned for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, after 435 days out injured.
The German international is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the game, but he has had to watch his side play week after week as he took the slow steps to recovery and suffered setbacks that prolonged his disappointment.
So having made his return against FC Cologne, how did Gundogan do?
The reported United target could not help his side to victory, with Dortmund suffering a 2-1 defeat as their stuttering start to the Bundesliga campaign continued. But there were reasons to be positive.
Gundogan had passing accuracy of 85.9 per cent, while he had two shots (one of which was on target). He also touched the ball 89 times, showing that he may have been out for a long time but he was not afraid to get stuck in and try to influence the game.

The player also won one tackle, two interceptions and made one key pass - not bad for a player who has been waiting patiently for well over a year to be back doing what he does best.
United have been linked with a trio of injury-hit midfielders in the form of Gundogan, Kevin Strootman and Arturo Vidal, and the German star looks like he could still be a great option who is hopefully finally over his injury nightmare.
The only problem for United is that Dortmund will not let him go without a fight...and even if he does leave there will be a whole host of clubs interested in his services.
