Manchester United-owned winger Nani has said that he is ‘happy’ at Sporting Lisbon.
The Portugal international joined Sporting on a season-long loan deal from the Red Devils in the summer transfer window.
‘The main thing that has gone through my head is how happy I am to be here and to be close to the people I like’, the 27-year-old told the Champions Magazine. ‘The people like me too’.
Nani joined United from Sporting in the summer of 2007 amid much hype and expectations.
Although the Portuguese had his moments and wowed the Old Trafford faithful with his tricks and flicks, he could never maintain the consistency needed to become a true success at United.
However, Nani appears to have regained his rhythm at his former club Sporting. He has scored two goals in six Primeira Liga appearances and one in two Champions League fixtures so far this campaign.
Nani’s loan deal with Sporting runs out at the end of the season, but maybe United could sell him to the Portuguese club on a permanent basis next summer.
