United morning news: Turkish defender linked; Januzaj’s agent speaks

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Adnan Januzaj’s agent has been speaking about the Belgian international’s early time under new boss Louis van Gaal.

In comments published by the Daily Star, Dirk De Vriese said of Januzaj’s involvement in the 4-0 defeat to MK Dons, “That Adnan had to prove himself for Louis van Gaal in that match is nonsense.

“After an elbow in training Adnan’s mouth was ripped open and he was under antibiotics and really should not have played. But after 20 minutes Shinji Kagawa is injured and Adnan suddenly needed to play.

“Then it makes sense that you do not play your best game ever.”

In an interview initially published by Het Nieuwsblad, the United star’s agent added, “The key lies with van Gaal, “ while stressing that Januzaj knows the club believes in him having given him Ryan Giggs’ number 11 shirt.

In other news, the Mirror reports that Galatasaray defender Semih Kaya wants a move to United, even if Atletico Madrid are favourites for his signature.

The £8million-rated centre-back has been linked with both clubs, with the Spaniards seemingly tipped for a January move. But Kaya reportedly hopes United come calling.
