Report: Club want to raise Arsenal target’s release-clause to €60m

Anderson Talisca could soon cost Arsenal - or any other potential suitors - a lot more than his reported £18million release-clause.

According to reports in Portugal, alleged Arsenal target Anderson Talisca could soon be a lot harder to prise away from Benfica.

The 20-year-old Brazilian forward has enjoyed a simply outstanding start to the season, scoring six goals in his first seven Primeira Liga appearances; and that fine form has reportedly prompted significant interest from North London.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to have a scout keeping a very close eye on Talisca, and recent reports have suggested the Gunners could make their move sooner rather than later, with the young forward said to be a possible replacement for Lukas Podolski.

However, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claims Benfica are looking to tie the player down to a new contract with a release-clause of €60million.

That equates to around £47.5million – a fee that would put off the keenest of potential buyers given Talisca’s age and inexperience.

If Arsenal do want to make a move, they would be wise to do so in January, with the player reportedly having an £18million in his current deal. But Benfica may have already made their moves by then, with the player far exceeding expectations and the Portuguese champions well aware how much interest his blistering form will have already attracted.
