PHOTOS: Arsenal winger returns to action after knee injury ... not Walcott

Serge Gnabry Nextgen

Serge Gnabry is back in action after being injured since March.

Last night saw Theo Walcott return to action for Arsenal, after nine months out with a serious knee injury. He featured for 45 minutes against the Blackburn Rovers under-21 outfit.

His return has been long anticipated by Arsenal fans, ready to see him flying down the flank once again for the Arsenal first-team.

But while everyone was happy with the return of Walcott, it may have overshadowed the return of another flying winger.

German youth international Serge Gnabry is now back in first-team action.

The 19-year-old has not featured at all for Arsenal this season. His last appearance for Arsenal came in March, when he played for 13 minutes against Bayern Munich in the Champions League back in March.

He has been struggling with a knee injury since March, but he also returned to action in the same game as Theo Walcott last night.

Gnabry is not likely to go straight into first-team contention, unlike Walcott who is set to waltz back into first-team duties.

He had a reasonably decent game, even having a couple of chances on goal, and will be hoping to soon earn his stripes in the Arsenal first-team once again.
