Michael Owen believes that Newcastle United will win the Premier League clash against Leicester City at St. James’ Park today.
‘At the start of the season the Magpies would have been long odds on to win this game and after coming from behind twice to earn a point at the Liberty Stadium last time perhaps this is the time to be with Alan Pardew’s side?’ the 34-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
‘Newcastle are unbeaten in their last eight against the Foxes and I expect to see that run continue at St James’s Park this weekend’.
Former Newcastle striker Owen seems to be backing Alan Pardew’s side, but it may not prove to be that straightforward against Leicester, who are currently 12th in the standings.
Hosts Newcastle will head into the game placed third from bottom in the Premier League table with just four points from seven matches. The Magpies have yet to win a league fixture this season, and have scored just seven goals while conceding conceding.
Pardew’s team did stage an encouraging comeback against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in their last fixture, but to win today they need to make a promising start to the game.
