Sporting Lisbon winger Nani has been singing the praises of former Manchester United teammate Paul Scholes.
The Portugal international played alongside the former England star at United for six years between 2007 and 2013.
Scholes is widely considered as one of the best midfielders of all time, and his cultured passing and superb ball-control skills mesmerised football fans all over the world.
It seems that Nani was also awestruck by Scholes during his time at United.
‘I got on really well with Paul Scholes’, the 27-year-old told the Champions Magazine. ‘I had never played with anyone who could read the game so well and could always put the ball where you wanted it. He would make everything easy’.
Nani is still on the books of United, but he is currently playing on loan for Sporting this season.
One hailed as a promising star of the future, the Portuguese has not always been convincing and has failed to maintain the consistency required to hold a regular place in a club as big as United.
However, Nani seems to be doing well at Sporting and is also involved in the Champions League. Perhaps he could still have a future at United.
