Manchester City against Tottenham Hotspur is today’s big Premier League game, and one player who will be keen to continue his impressive record in this fixture is Sergio Aguero.
The Argentina international striker has somewhat slipped under the radar this season largely due to the furore over Chelsea star Diego Costa and Manchester United’s deadline-day signing Radamel Falcao.
However, there is no doubt that Aguero remains a world-class striker and one of the best in the world, and he will once again be a major threat to Spurs.
The 26-year-old has scored five goals in as many Premier League appearances against Tottenham since joining City from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011, and that’s the record he will be determined to maintain today.
5 - @aguerosergiokun has netted five goals in five PL apps against Tottenham – only v Norwich City (5) has he scored as many. Spurred.— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) October 16, 2014
Aguero has been in good form for City so far this season, scoring five goals in seven Premier League appearances. He has also created five chances, has a 60% shot accuracy and a 85% pass accuracy.
The former Independiente star has often struggled with injuries, but he has always been among the goals. A truly world-class striker (when fit), Aguero will be a major threat to Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium today.
