Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has explained what he is good at.

The Scotsman is currently without a job in football management after being dismissed by the Red Devils in April.

Moyes was appointed as the United manager last summer following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson as the boss, but he failed to lead the Manchester outfit to even a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Moyes, who worked at Everton for over 10 years and made the Toffees an established Premier League outfit with potential to challenge for a top-six finish, has now explained what type of a football management job he wants next.

‘I'm really ambitious’, the 51-year-old told BBC Sport. ‘I would never have left Everton FC for anybody but an ambitious football club. And I thought Manchester United would have given me that opportunity.

‘It didn't materialise that way, so I am hoping that the next club I join gives me the chance to build a team, because I think that is what I am good at. I also think that I am good at spotting and identifying young players, not only young players, but players.

‘Over the years, we have brought in a lot of players at Everton and I think that they worked well. So if the opportunity came, then hopefully I will be able to make it work’.

What Moyes desires to do at his next club is noble and something that all managers should aspire to, but the problem is that big English (and European teams) will not have the patience. And rightly so.

Perhaps Moyes as a manager is cut out for a job for an ambitious but modest club where he would not be asked to produce instant results.
