Everton got back to winning ways in the Premier League this weekend, as they brushed aside Aston Villa 3-0 at Goodison Park.
Goals from Phil Jagielka, Romelu Lukaku and Seamus Coleman on his return to action saw Everton come away with all three points in an excellent and professional performance that took them up to 12th in the Premier League table.
But while the performance of Leighton Baines was truly superb the name on most Everton fan's lips at the final whistle was Ross Barkley.
When he got injured at the beginning of the season there were fears and rumours that he could be out for the whole campaign. Then it was rumoured he would be out until 2015. Then it was November - the timescale kept reducing.
But he actually returned in mid-October, starting today's game.
And it looks like there will be no averse affect from his recent trouble.
He was excellent, bar the odd understandable off touch, even testing Brad Guzan with a stinging drive and seemingly bringing out the best in Romelu Lukaku - who clearly loves playing with the young England international.
Barkley is of course delighted to be back in action and the fans are pleased to have him back in first-team action.
No better feeling than getting back out there today ✌️ pic.twitter.com/nGO2djGRkq— Ross Barkley (@RBarkley20) October 18, 2014
And they expressed that on Twitter after the game.
Here are some of the best post-match Tweets from Everton fans on Barkley's comeback...

Encouraging win. Several strong performances. Barkley's return a huge boost, Baines a cut above. Good showing from Alcaraz vs. Benteke, too.— Matt Cheetham (@Matt_Cheetham) October 18, 2014
