Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that Diego Costa will not regain his fitness for midweek’s Champions League game against Maribor.
The Spain international striker was left out of the Blues’ squad for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. Costa, who joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window, is struggling with a hamstring injury.
The 26-year-old featured in both of Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifiers during the international break, and that has seemingly made his problem worse.
Mourinho has now stated that Costa will not be available for Chelsea’s Champions League Group G encounter against Maribor at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

Costa has been a key player for Chelsea so far this season, but the London outfit won without him on Saturday. Goals from Oscar and Cesc Fabregas saw the Blues pick up a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
