The former Liverpool players (and ex-Tottenham man) shared their views after news broke of another injury for the striker.
News of another Daniel Sturridge injury has hit Liverpool hard.
Fans were hoping that the Reds' season could finally turn around against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, with Brendan Rodgers' side returning to the highs of last campaign.
It was not to be, however, as the 25-year-old was ruled out for another month with a calf injury.
Jamie Carragher, for one, was displeased by the news. The former Liverpool defender took to Twitter after it was confirmed, admitting he was 'not happy.'
Just heard about the Sturridge injury, out for a month not happy desperately needed him back.— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) October 17, 2014
And Gary Lineker also took to social media, although his take was more light-hearted.
That could perhaps be explained by the fact that the former Spurs striker has no affiliation to the Anfield side.
Ex-Reds man Rob Jones reacted in a similar fashion to Carragher, though, admitting he was 'gutted' and that he himself had been in similar situations before.
Sturridge may now potentially miss seven games for Rodgers' side.
It will be up to the likes of Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini to fill the void left by the 25-year-old up front. Especially as Liverpool have two huge Champions League fixtures against Real Madrid coming up.
