Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could feature in the Premier League clash against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The 27-year-old picked up a groin injury while on international duty with France and was considered a doubt for the match against the English champions.
Pochettino, though, believes that the former Nice and Lyon star could regain his fitness for the match against City.
‘Hugo arrived [on Wednesday] and was good, but we need to analyse and do tests’, FourFourTwo quotes the Argentine boss as saying on Thursday. ‘We have another day to decide. We need all players to be fit’.
Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and is a key player for a Tottenham side aiming to break into the top four.
However, Spurs do have an able deputy in Michel Vorm, who cost the North London club a reported transfer fee of £3.5 million to sign from Swansea City in the summer.
The 30-year-old Netherlands international goalkeeper has yet to make his Premier League debut for Tottenham, but he proved his calibre during his time at Swansea and will provide a secure pair of hands against City.
