Scarlett Johansson offered $10 million for Ghost in the Shell

Scarlett Johansson In Lucy

The live-action adaptation of the popular manga comic and anime movies approaches the Avengers star for role.

Deadline reports that Scarlett Johansson (Avengers, Lucy) has been offered the lead role in the live-action adaptation of Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell.

The adaptation of the the manga comic and anime movies of the same name will be directed by Rupert Sanders, director of Snow White and the Huntsman, in association with Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks Studios.

Ghost in Shell is a sci-fi cyberpunk thriller that centres on a counter-cyberterrorist organisation in the fictional New Port City, Japan.

It was revealed in September that The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie was in talks to star in the movie, but that now seems unlikely as she's apparently being looked at for the recently-announced DC Suicide Squad movie.
