Giuseppe Rossi is battling to return to fitness after yet another injury, but his agent remains upbeat about the 27-year-old's future.
The American-born Italian international has always had enormous potential, but each time he begins to show just how good he can be, he seems to pick up a serious injury.
Having started last season in lethal form, Rossi damaged his cruciate ligament for the third time and missed the World Cup despite nearly recovering in time.
After bouncing back from that blow, Rossi again suffered a knee injury at the start of this season, which he is hoping to recover from in early 2015.
All in all, Rossi has undergone four knee operations during his career, which some pundits suggest could be a sign his playing days are running out.
"Giuseppe will be back stronger than before and he is very relaxed.
"We know exactly what is going on from a medical point of view and we are calm and optimistic.
"I can't say exactly when he'll be back on the pitch, but probably around the four to five months that is normal according to the report."
