Manchester United fans value stars: Blackett worth more than Fletcher

Manchester United supporters were asked to give their opinion on the value of the players...

Readers of Manchester-based newspaper Manchester Evening News gave their verdict on how much they thought the Manchester United stars were worth, and below are the results:

The list, in order of valuation:

Angel di Maria - £60 million [increase of 300k from £59.7m]

Falcao - £40 million [undetermined; £12m loan fee]

Adnan Januzaj - £30 million [increase of £30m from academy]

David de Gea - £30 million [increase of £11.1m from £18.9m]

Wayne Rooney - £30 million [increase in £4.4m from £25.6m]

Ander Herrera - £30 million [increase of £2m from £28m]

Juan Mata - £30 million [decrease in £7.1m from £37.1m]

Daley Blind - £20 million [increase of £6m from £14m]

Phil Jones - £20 million [increase of £4m from £16m]

Luke Shaw - £20 million [decrease of £11.5m from £31.5m]

Marcos Rojo - £16 million [no change in value]

Marouane Fellaini - £15 million [decrease of £12.5m from £27.5m]

Johnny Evans - £10 million [increase of £10m from the academy]

Tyler Blackett - £10 million [increase of £10m from the academy]

James Wilson - £10 million [increase of £10m from the academy]

Rafael - £10 million [increase of £7.4m from 2.6m]

Ashley Young - £10 million [decrease in £7m from £17m]

Michael Carrick - £10 million [decrease of £8.6m from £18.6m]

Darren Fletcher - £5 million [increase of £5m from the academy]

Paddy McNair - £5 million [increase of £5m from the academy]

Anders Lindegaard – £2 million [decrease in £1m from £3m]

Anderson - £1 million [decrease in £16m from £17m]

United fans clearly have high hopes for their young players with many of them valued at more than seven figures. Tyler Blackett and James Wilson, with just eight Premier League appearances between them, have been valued at a combined £20m - higher in the list than Darren Fletcher.

Seven players have been valued at £30m or more, while only four have been valued at less than £10m.

Anderson is the winner of the wooden spoon in last place, while new-boys Angel di Maria and Falcao sit at the top of the tree comfortably, which isn’t really a surprise given their respective starts to the season.

Michael Carrick - £10m - and Johnny Evans - £5m - should be the most disappointed with their position in the list, given their achievements at the club, but with both being on the wrong side of 30 their age would have definitely gone against them.
