Manchester City morning news: Lampard on start at City, confirms future plans

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Frank Lampard has revealed he didn’t expect the start he’s enjoyed at Manchester City.

Lampard has had an instant impact for City, on loan from sister club New York City FC.

“If somebody had said I would be voted player of the month by the fans in my first full month playing I would have had difficulty believing them,” said Lampard.

Lampard has also confirmed that no agreement is in place for him to stay at City beyond January.

There has been speculation since the start of the season that the midfielder could extend his stay at the Etihad.

“I am contracted here until January - That is as far as it goes at the moment. Speculation has come because of a couple of goals, but at the moment there is nothing to be said,” he said.

Yaya Toure has returned to Manchester City training early in order to be fit for the game against Tottenham.

Toure played for the Ivory Coast on Wednesday night but the Mirror has detailed how a mad rush saw him report for City training yesterday morning.
