Spurs travel to the Etihad Stadium hoping to avoid another mauling at the hands of the Premier League champions, who beat them 6-0 last season.
A midfield duel between two of the division's most powerful midfielders could have a major impact on the game, if Yaya Toure and Etienne Capoue line up against each other on Saturday.
Toure played for the Ivory Coast on Wednesday, but returned to City earlier than expected to feature in the game against Mauricio Pochettino's side.
Spurs have not lost away from home this season, and they will be delighted if they can extend that record past this weekend's tough trip to the champions.
Capoue has been a mainstay in the Spurs side so far, and he will be kept busy tracking the likes of David Silva and Toure around in the final third.
The Frenchman will need to break play up and move the ball on to Tottenham's attacking talents at the other end of the pitch, in a Spurs display that is likely to mirror that of the one at the Emirates Stadium a couple of weeks ago.
|Team||Pos||Apps||Goals||Chances Created||Accurate Pass / apps||Won Tackle / apps||Aerial Duels Won / apps||Touches / apps||Mins|
|Yaya Touré||Man City||MF||6||1||3||91.50||0.67||0.67||111.83||540|
Toure has not been as effective as we have seen him in past seasons yet, but he netted his first goal of the season in the win against Aston Villa last time out.
He has created the same number of chances as Capoue so far, and has made more accurate passes per appearance, although the Frenchman is more effective when defending.
The Spurs man has won more tackles and aerial duels per game than Tour, and will need to be at his best to contain the City attack on Saturday.
Tottenham haven't defeated City at the Etihad since 2010, although they are in much better shape going into this one than they were last November, and it should be an intriguing game as a result.
