Chelsea morning news: Blues linked with world class duo, Warnock praises Mourinho

José Mourinho Celebrates

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the contract situation of Juventus star Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman has been periodically linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as his form and development have improved in Serie A.

However, the Blues could face competition from Manchester United if they decide to move on their apparent interest.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has compared Jose Mourinho to former Nottingham Forest boss Brian Clough.

Warnock and Mourinho are due to lock horns in the London derby between Palace and Chelsea tomorrow.

“In my eyes Jose is the nearest thing to Cloughie really. Jose's the same type - a players' manager. When I was growing up as a young manager, I thought Cloughie had everything,” said Warnock.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.

Real are thought to be preparing for the German’s departure with a potential move for Cruzeiro star Lucas Silva.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested in Khedira, based on the pressure for Arsene Wenger to sign a holding midfield player.
