Deila wants to keep best players
Celtic's Ronny Deila has fired a warning to Arsenal that the Bhoys are determined to keep hold of their best players.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to Virgil Van Dijk, but Deila says that Celtic will be aiming to keep hold of the Dutchman.
“It’s still quite a long time until the window is open, so there’s going to be rumours every week but we want to keep our best players and that is what we will be going for," he said to the Daily Record.
“We want to keep those who are performing and we know are going to be important, then add other players so we can progress."
Deila wants Scotland like performance
Ronny Deila wants to get his team playing like Scotland did in their most recent European qualifier.
The Scottish national side picked up a draw against Poland away and Deila was very impressed by their performance.
“It was fantastic to watch Scotland on Tuesday," he said to the Daily Record. "I got energy just from watching the game."
“That’s what we want to do at Celtic as well and this is the way I think it is right to go."
Black backs squad
Rangers midfielder Ian Black has backed his squad to cope, despite the increased pressure they are under.
The Light Blues' poor start has meant that the side are under increased scrutiny, but Black feels there is enough experience at Ibrox to still perform well.
"We've got enough quality throughout the squad that can pull us through as long as there's not too many of those bad days," he is quoted as saying by the Scottish Evening Times.
"The pressure is always on us with the expectations here because of the size of this club and what it has achieved over the years."
