Aston Villa fans react on Twitter to Fabian Delph injury blow

Aston Villa

Aston Villa fans took to Twitter to express their despair at news that Fabian Delph is expected to be out for up to 12 weeks with a dislocated shoulder.

Aston Villa fans have been cursing the club's luck, following news that midfield talisman Fabian Delph could be out until 2015 with a dislocated shoulder.

The England international suffered the setback after an awkward fall in training this week, with subsequent scans revealing that he will require an operation to repair the damage.

After a slow start to life at Villa following a £6 million move from Leeds United in August 2009, Delph has been immense for Paul Lambert's side over the past 18 months, standing out as the club's top performer, while earning his first senior England call-up.

Since making two starts in three appearances for the Three Lions, news that he could miss up to 11 league games before Christmas will come as a bitter pill to swallow for Villa supporters, who were hoping for the club to push on after the international break following a tough run of fixtures.

Colombian World Cup veteran Carlos Sanchez could now be given a chance to impress in the lineup, following his £4.7 million summer move from Elche, but that hasn't stopped fans from reacting in despair at their star man being sidelined.
