Tottenham have enjoyed a positive start to life under Mauricio Pochettino, winning three of their first seven games, which has taken Spurs to sixth place in the Premier League. One of their key players so far has been Nacer Chadli, with the former Twente man showing marked improvement from his first season at White Hart Lane.
The 25-year-old has already hit four goals in six games under Pochettino, including Spurs' goal against Arsenal in the North London derby, and his impressive start to the season has been replicated on international duty having scored in Belgium's 6-0 thrashing of minnows Andorra last weekend.
Chadli's goal was, ironically, a header from a cross by Tottenham team mate Jan Verthonghen, and he reflected on that goal, Belgium's recent performances and Tottenham's upcoming game against Manchester City on the Spurs official website.
"It was a Spurs goal!" said Chadli. "Jan crossed the ball very nicely and I managed to get in front of the defender and just sent it in. It was a good game against Andorra, we played well and a lot of fans were there, so it was good to score six goals and enjoy it with them."
"We’re now on four points out of six, so it’s not a bad start, but now I’m fully focused with the rest of our players here at Spurs on this Saturday with a big game against City. After that we’ll see about the Europa League, as we need to win the next game there too."
