The game was called off after a drone with a political message cause conflict between players and fans with Kolarov trying to play peace maker.
The Express has praised Kolarov for trying to protect other players as fans entered the field of play.
Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard has joined the list of players to defend Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling.
Sterling has been criticised after he asked Roy Hodgson for a rest while on England international duty.
“I think he is actually quite a brave boy to say, ‘You know what, I am not quite at my best here’” said Lampard.
Manchester City could be without Yaya Toure and Fernandinho when they host Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
The pair could be missing with Fernandinho injured and Toure fatigued after the international break.
