Purely Football’s list of the top ten managers in European football has one glaring omission; it doesn’t include Arsene Wenger.
The list, reportedly compiled based on the opinions of journalists from all over Europe, includes four Premier League bosses, but Wenger is nowhere to be seen.
Everton’s Roberto Martinez, Liverpool’s Brendan Rodgers, Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal and Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho all feature in the top ten but there is no place for Arsenal’s experienced Frenchman.
Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is rated as the best coach and manager in European football according to the poll.
Wenger has been forced to endure a difficult period at Arsenal where he’s won just one trophy since 2005 but he remains one of the most skilled coaches tactically and in terms of the way he develops his players.
He has one of the most talented squads of players in Europe and is one of the longest serving managers in the world so why he hasn’t made this list is a mystery.
