Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has been singing the praises of his teammate Calum Chambers.
The England international defender joined the Gunners from Southampton in the summer transfer window for a reported fee of £16 million.
Chambers has been impressive for the North London outfit so far this season, having been deployed in centre-back and at right-back by manager Arsene Wenger.
Flamini, who rejoined Arsenal last summer, is impressed with the 19-year-old’s displays and believes that he has a bright future.
Flamini: Calum is a great player. Since he arrived he has learned a lot and it is only the beginning for him. #AskFlamini— Arsenal FC (@Arsenal) October 16, 2014
Chambers has indeed proved to be a good addition to the Arsenal team and has shown his versatility.
Despite not scoring in seven Premier League appearances, the teenager has created chances, won 55% of his duels and has a pass accuracy of 88%.
Chambers was initially signed as cover in central defence, but the injury to right-back Mathieu Debuchy has led him to being deployed at right-back.
There are even suggestions that Chambers could be used in defensive midfield. If he is deployed in that position, then he is likely to do well.
